Let's assume that if I really wanted to, I could afford this. I'm a huge football fan. I don't speak German. Thoughts?

I am german, and i can tell you that there are tons of clubs out there without money, all great heritage and names. The first question is: When it´s such a successful club, why is it for sale?

I wouldn´t even think about it, especcially without speaking german, no knowledge of the german league system and such, and first of all: no personal relationship to the club.

This is my main concern. The sale price seems to only be at about 1x revenue, which seems... silly cheap.

The current owner could be borrowing money against the franchise and needs to repay. Could be a divorce settlement.

It doesn't look like you'd be buying the whole thing--only a majority share.
