The first pic is of my shirt, the second pic gives an idea of how I would like the sleeves shortened. Notice they are also tighter in the second pic. Is this possible? Would it look ok in a button up ? I need a lesson101 on sleeve shortening and lingo used so when I go to a tailor I don't sound like a dumb*ss. And can someone give me an estimate of what this would cost at a decent tailor ? Thanks!

When I alter shirts for customers who want short sleeves

The standard length I use is 11". The second pic looks as though it could be more like 9" and if you want to trim down the width of the sleeve you will also have to trim the side seam too.

Is the alteration I'm asking for a big deal ? You don't sound like you like doing it with that frown face. Is there lingo for it or do I just tell the tailor I want my sleeves shortened ? Is there a cost range I should expect ? Appreciate the help.

I think the frown face is just because he would prefer people not to wear short-sleeve shirts. Seems like you should tell your tailor how much you want your sleeves shortened and how much you want them narrowed. It shouldn't be that terrible a task.
