So to those of you that know me, you'll be happy to hear my clark's are finally dead, or close enough it doesn't matter, and I can't find a place to get them resoled at the moment.

I've been looking into shoes, and I realized I've always just had bean boots, clarks, or AEs and I have no idea what else is out there.

Basically I'm looking for a (brown) shoe:

- fairly conservative (not dressy, just not ostentatious.

-very durable, but preferably leather

-waterproof and maybe a bit insulated (I do live in scandinavia)

-Available in denmark or easily ordered.

So far the only thing I've been recommended is bjorn bjorg, which I've never even heard of until now. they look nice but I don't know if they'll hold up etc.

Note: the thing I liked about my clarks is the same thing I like about my barbour, they get worn in, you maintain them, they build and develop character, and basically become a part of you. I wore those things 300+ days a year for 4 years, and (even aside from the smell) I could pick them out of a lineup of 100 shoes. I want that.

thanks,

-Liam

PS. Sorry for the new thread, but I couldn't find a non-sneaker shoe thread for complete morons.
