I am in the UK, where sheepskin coats are associated with used car dealers and market traders. However, I think they are kind of cool and might buy one.

I am thinking about something like this.

What say you Gents?

I have a very modern stand up collar one and have only worn once (probably doesn't fit now) because the winters have been so mild, but I do like them aesthetically depending on how it's cut. I just think a good wool overcoat would get more use.

You should have several depending on whether you want to dress up or down.

Agreed. I bought a pre owned one from a California based company that unfortunately is now out of business I think

Buy British. Get a Morlands coat. Single breasted, dark wool. It will have to be second hand now unfortunately.

Glastonbury was the place for sheepskin. The water was good for tanneries.

Nurseys was another brand from East Anglia that closed fairly recently.

There are plenty of bargains on eBay. No need to pay a fortune. Sheepskins and long coats are not in great demand.

This style in the right size and in good condition is what you should look for.

I’ve bought one for £99 from Etsy which, if it fits, I will have cleaned. If it does not I’ve several saved as faves on EBay.

I’ve no issue with vintage, if it is undamaged and clean.
