he wrote a piece on me once. he was miffed that I had given myself the "Quality Seller" moniker (I was given that, I never requested/asked for it and honestly, a bit embarrassed by it). He ripped into me and then went on as to why he was the true quality seller

I also made a tasteless joke about his wife stealing things from the lost and found at the country club she worked at. he did not like. He reguarly read SF and would rip into posts/members for apparently no reason. God forbid you ever linked to one of his ebay auctions and said something bad

Now some people feel sorry for you, so they humor you (their numbers will gradually dwindle, but a few core people will forever remain, you'll become their mascot of sorts). The rest of the people will avoid you like the plague. You'll soon be left talking to only freshman and the handful of saintly people who will tolerate you because it makes them feel like nice people.

Unlike high school, though, you're not getting beat up or pushed in lockers. Instead, people are coming out of the woodwork to politely (for now) tell you to relax a bit. Ease into the forum.
I feel like I'm ******** up threads almost as bad as you by lecturing you, though. So enough. Back on ignore, and I'll stop.

I did you a favor when I derailed this thread - it gave you the chance to let it go - but you keep pushing. Just stop it.

I can certainly understand the sentiment of posts like this. OTOH, for new members to be able to actually understand what the hell is actually being said can, at times, be very challenging. I think threads like this make for a nice Cliff's Notes version of some of the more memorable things that have happened here.

I am happy to have members like In Stitches put themselves out there so that folks like myself can learn a little bit about this history of the forum.

In Stitches now is light years better than In Stitches a week or two ago. Yes, Matt and I's posts were strongly worded, but eventually they, with others, had the desired effect. Social norms have to be enforced somehow.

I've always looked back on the first "Biggest Douche" contest with fond memories. Several igents got their panties in a bunch over it.
