Choices for non chelsea, non harness boots in tan suede are very slim/non-existent right now and it's bumming me out. Really wanna get my hands on a pair of tan suede santiags or wyatts (minus harness). major bummer that i probably wouldn't even buy current season stuff because of the wide ankle shaft. what the hell am i supposed to do?

Agreed 100%, but rest easy. Polos still have the ysl, all the fragrance, and it's still found on most/many pieces somewhere on the garment. I reckon the rebranding is probably just one of those trends that will die gradually and gracefully.

The rebranding is to stay. The ready to wear line will be called Saint Laurent Paris, but the house and the couture line is known as Yves Saint Laurent, hence why some polos and bags still have the old YSL logo. The fragrances and make up are licensed out and are not part of Saint Laurent, and as such still have the different, older branding.
