True, but pretty much all SLP garments I have say "dry clean" (even their jeans), which I have of course washed without any problems.. 100% Silk, however, is a bit more unpredictable..

yeah, the ones that arent 100% silk still say dry clean also...

wearing 5 shirts a week it's going to add up if have to dry clean them every time.

seen studies on 'dry clean only' stuff...9 out of 10 it doesnt make a difference.

If you're wearing 100% silk SLP shirts 5 days a week, dry cleaning shouldn't be a concern.

well maybe that's an exaggeration...or an extreme...

but maybe only thing stopping me is i dont want to be paying X amount a week having shirts dry cleaned if i dont need to.

and the viscose ones are 'dry clean only' too.

OK, then don't be sad if you ruin a shirt or whatever because you didn't want to dry clean it. YMMV. If I'm spending $900 on a shirt, I'm going to pay $10-$15 to dry clean it at a competent place.

Truth be told I don't always wash my shirts every time I wear them. But then again I usually don't get then dirty and I don't sweat through them.

yeah, me neither. (to grapist)

it was just a question...

and i will probably risk ruining one with a handwash...i was just asking if anyone else has already ruined one with a machine wash or a handwash...

vintage 1950s shirts are delicate too (cost more / harder to find / hold their value better, than SLP) and they wash in the machine fine (although i mainly handwash).

i thought i saw the topic discussed earlier in the thread that was all...

Oh you think I bought it?

I just tried them on to show how it fits.

It's 100 degrees here, you'd be crazy to even think about layering.

I handwash silk all the time, I'm sure it'll be fine, just fabric
Use a mild detergent like woolite

How should I remove body odor from a 100% silk garment? I had it dry cleaned and de-oderized and the stench is still there. Is there anything left for me to do?
