Don't get me wrong, I love tassel loafers. I just don't like whole cut versions.

Penny loafers & weejuns without socks is a classic Ivy look. That context is largely gone now though and by today's standards, it can seem forced sometimes

Loafers with no socks is a great look, with, as mentioned, Ivy roots. Calling the look a fad is inaccurate imo.
I agree though, it can be forced because of GQ (and others) requiring loafers no socks, with skinnies and rolled cuffs during photo shoots.

Na na, that outfit he has one with those G&G loafers should be this way, without socks. Since he made it casual with the sportcoats, no tie and rolled up the khaki pants like that. It's not like he is wearing a suit with no socks.

The guy pulled this off very good, perfect!

Actually I like it that way, since it would look so nerdy with the outfit he is pulling off. If it would be in a more classic way and not so ''modern'' he should.
