^Sounds like a bunch of convoluted self-righteous bullshit from a 20-something twink who has discovered college gen-ed courses.

It's best not to lament or let oneself be affected by the forms of expression put forth by those who have done nothing to gain your respect or admiration in the first place. We're all about where we need to be.

We all know most people suck at most things. Just ******* shine already.

And then contribute something of value.

Congratulations, you just topped the SZ post!

Any Dana Lee fans around here care to comment on the Easy Shirts?
Measurements make it seem like they fit pretty big, ime the measurements on the webshop have been pretty accurate, but everything has also fit pretty TTS (XL in everything, but maybe an L in these?)
I'm in between a small and medium and I take a small for a looser fit in the Easy Shirts. I normally size down across the board for Dana Lee buttondowns, shirts, and tanks. I love the fit on their tanks but I always go for an XS.

I've strongly considered just transitioning to Dana Lee since I find myself wearing everything I own multiple times per week.

@Ecco - Thanks, sounds like an L would be best. The large in the common shirts probably "look" better on me but the chest is too tight, other than that XL's are my DL size though. And I agree about wearing Dana Lee a lot, if it wasn't so boring I could wear it all the time, although being boring (but awesome) is kind of what she has going for her.

Any Boston peeps down to chill today? I have a few free hours in the afternoon / early evening. Was planning to swing by Drinkwater's but I'd be down to grab some beers.

I have to get my haircut after work so I don't think I can make it out. Sorry man! Next time hopefully.

I wish Antonioli, would stop emphasizing on their social networking platforms how "wearable," Yang Li's menswear is. From all the things I've purchased, fabrics and construction are all great, but until he shows a full menswear collection, I still think half this stuff is too difficult to incorporate into ones wardrobe.

What do you find difficult about it? Seems like it would fit in just fine if your wardrobe falls into that minimal Raf/Jil/HL and even Yohji aesthetic.

I was scoffing at the quote as much as anyone, but that is some intense and unattractive vitriol.
This is the truth. What makes the quote funny is not the foundation of the statement, but the way in which it is presented, the context of Stylezeitgeist currently being a forum where Faust and the old guard ridicule or ban any newcomers and then lament the fact that they don't have any new and interesting contributors.

Of course it makes sense that an outfit comprised of the brands typically listed on SZ can be appreciated in multiple ways; one person might "get it" from the outset purely because of its pleasing silhouette while another might require additional knowledge about what is going on, Rick's subversion of 80s street and gymwear for example. The latter is what the quote is referring to, only in a sanctimonious fashion.

Dismissing the need for context, analysis, deconstruction, art theory, and referring to archaic concepts of "value", etc., is as damaging as the attitude in the quoted post.

Colloquially speaking, SZ is dead. Faust banned most of the cool/interesting/fashionable people and the rest just quit on their own.

And it is funny, if anything he wants to be even more exclusionary and elitist. You think at some point he'd realize taking that approach isn't going to bring back the excellent contributors or drum up new ones and **** is dying.

The reality is a lot of the folks that contribute content that would tickle his pickle don't find that sort of ivory tower environment engaging or rewarding to be part of. It's having a variety of different styles and posters, including ones that fail at their execution that gives flavor and inspires one's own journey and keeps things fresh and interesting imo. The circle jerk of smugness gets stale I'd imagine.

You need things to react to even if its a negative reaction rather than same ole same ole even if same ole is awesome.

Or maybe I'm just butthurt he called out my fit alongside moo's ;p Not that moo's fit was bad imo, though sure mine wasn't great either.
