I searched round this here forum for an answer to this question but came up somewhat blank so here goes:

What type of pants should be worn with:

a. indigo denim jacket (lighter wash) and
b. black denim jacket (raw)?

Match denim with denim, so I guess blue denim for both, maybe raw since the indigo jacket is lighter. Peoplewill tell you not to do that but hey.

I don't look forward to that, either (and I live in Mass, too, and am familiar with the absence of fashion here) but I think there's a place in this world for a tasteful jean jacket. Though that may be considered by some to be an oxymoron.

I was referring to what SVB posted.

The canadian tuxedo, i.e. denim on denim is pretty bad too, but the top half grunge look with the preppy-ish colorful pants just freak me out for some reason.

I don't own one right now, but I like denim jackets. I'm far from an authority though...

I started tipping my tailor around 15 to 20% after about the 10th garment I brought in because I'll OCD over 1/4" and 1/2" in jean tapering and hemming decisions during fittings.

the denim tux is all about owning it. it's doable (as long as it's broken in or light washed. that's part of owning it.)

i agree w/ thewho about light denim jacket+dark/black denim, and a raw denim jacket...well, if you have really worn in raw denim jeans already, i'd pair it it with that, but probably nothing else.

Just for closure's sake this is the black, dry denim jacket I mentioned. It's lighter material than it may look. I think it's a nice piece.

I guess I won the last one barely by a fluke but, being new to this side of the forum, don't feel super qualified to run a challenge. Also with college finals right now my brain is maxed out.
