I have heard people express the opinion that fashion and clothing choice should be a a direct expression of yourself. I used to think that, but more recently I have decided that one of the bigger motivators in how I dress is my environment. In the last couple years, I have bounced around cities. I went from the SF Bay Area, to Boston, and then down to NOLA. There is no way that I would dress the way that I do down in the South while chilling in the suburbs of SF.

And I'm not just talking about weather, I am talking about fabrics, the cut of trousers and jeans, and the shoes I decide to buy. Anyone else find this happening to them?

And if I am partially dressed by my environment, and Styleforum is part of my environment, then I guess it is OK by me to kinda go with he ebb and flow of the forum.

I've become afraid of every long post now, particularly from people without avatars, as I'm worried it's that guy from the "Why raw jeans?" thread.

Everything I want, besides some new Ts, costs over $500. This is quite problematic as my funding situation does not allow me to cop them all and I'm unable to decide on which are most important.

after all the 'berlin is sexy' comments, I feel compelled to disinfect myself in axe body spray and coddle myself in three layered polos for warmth

How are you so sure it's the forum?

That's why I stopped. It's all forums. It's all people. There was no real reason for me to comment in the first place (Booker's Bourbon). I said it in another post. It's like going into church and complaining about prayer. I was a little bit suprised that someone admitted to activley seeking to become a member of an online community for the experience itself. I suppose that is how far the bar has been moved. I should probably just stick to the music threads. No good can come from posting in this thread or the WAYWT. I have no desire to be a troll or gadfly here.

Do you have a pair you've broken in, or started to break in? I just had the same idea, and did this with some petit standards that I've worn for a year - soaked them in bleach, ran them through the wash a few times. They came out great - at least in my mind (although slightly tighter than when I started) - but they were pretty faded on their way in. Don't think it would work that well on a brand new pair, though, and 5 cycles definitely isn't gonna do it. I say go for it though, what's the worst that could happen?

I don't get why it's so hard for people to just PM back saying "Sorry, I'm no longer interested in X" I can see that you've been active since the last PM
