Sunspel vs James Perse for summer t-shirts? Quality wise

Would you trust brits who brought opium to colonies as means to subvert the established societies or americans that condone state surveillance to make you tees? Clear answer: Sunspel. Their tees are lightly woven as mentioned by conceptual but are incredibly lightweight and breathable, also they have a nice sheen. I've found my Sunspel tees hold but well after repeated wear and wash while JP tees pill and stretch more readily.

The Cut has a new section called "Mansplaining," which from what I can tell, is basically a series of articles explaining men.

Can't tell if this stuff is parody though. There's no way this article featuring guys explaining why they send dick pics is real

http://nymag.com/thecut/2016/05/now-men-explaining-why-they-send-dick-pics.html

Choice selections:

“For me, dick pics are the ultimate sign of confidence. It's important to let a girl know exactly how ready I would be in a situation where she would need me to be naked. When all the hints of my desperation have been sent verbally or in text, the logical next move is the dick pic. My move used to be done purely in person: Get half-erect, involve ******* into the conversation somehow, and then urge her to feel it, under the guise of it being almost scientific to do so. But the dick pic is like sending a résumé or even putting up a 'now hiring' sign. No more having to unsexualize ******* with a half chub and sweatpants to make her aware of what I’m packing, so thank god for my Droid.” — Ryan, 27, cook

“Dick pics in the straight world seem to offend at an alarming rate. In gay circles and/or networks and/or apps, not only is the dick pic a courtesy, many decide to skip the dick pic altogether and go for the asshole pic, a starfish selfie. Some dicks are deal-breakers while others seal the deal in a few seconds. A picture is worth a thousand words, and we are living in a world of Twitter-length messaging. Get to the point.” — Michael, 39, videographer

“Most of my recent relationships have been from online dating sites. Most initial interactions are by phone and text. If the conversation gets sexual, it feels natural at times to give the girl a visual of my arousal. I've never dick-bombed anyone. She always knows it's coming, and half the time is the one requesting it.” — Anthony, 37, baker

I just want an oversized boxy shirt and I can't find ****. I have a few "almosts" (RO jumbo shirt, Marni SS sweatshirt, Lanvin technical shirt, Lemaire poplin T's) but nothing that's is exactly what I want. If Lemaire made the cut of the poplin tee's in a heavy jersey I would buy a dozen. If anybody has any rec's please share.

On another note the French twins posted some shorts on their IG from their line and they look awesome. Praying they are available soon and are the same light wool as their pants.

Thanks, they actually look alright. second one looks pretty similar to the Lemaire but with shorter sleeves, is it like a mix poplin?... First one, I can't tell since its tucked in all the photos.

No worries. Yea, the second is a poplin-like fabric, similar to what Lemaire has done with his tees in the past. But I believe the first one is just as boxy but in a heavier jersey fabric.

This has to be peak Japanese, goth, upcycling hype.

Company takes vintage pieces and sends them to Japan to be overdyed. From what I can tell, basically nothing you'd do different at home. Except an overdyed Levi's trucker jacket and Saint James shirt now costs $350 instead of ~$50 second-hand.

To be fair the traditional Kyoto black dying technique is supposed to be special and give a deeper black. I think @Synthese (in reference to Jun Hashimoto) has mentioned it here before, although the article links he posted seem to be dead. Not to say we haven't reached a ridiculous level of overpriced upcycle stuff on the market at this point (and brands trying to exploit Japanese-ness for cool points, of course) but I'd like to hope their results are better than a sachet of Rit at home. Maybe I'll swing by Present next time I'm in town to see for myself.

Yeah, I think what will really drive these out the door is being able to see/feel/wear the stuff in person. If the color/feel/fit were attractive irl, I wouldn't mind buying a professionally refinished item that was already in the price range of what it would cost me new.

I don't buy the hype, but I can see why it would sell if the product was nice.

@OccultaVexillum have you tried the lownn pants? they look really good, but i didn't kop because i thought they might be a little too heavy for spring/summer, also pricing is not far off marni/lemaire levels.

i can't help but find it amusing that those guys built up their social media presence via #menswear looks then one day discovered lemaire and retro sneakers. of course we all evolve/change, but the comical aspect is amplified when you're a #influencer
