there's an awesome vintage store on la brea in la called what goes around comes around that stocks cool shop coats, souvenir jackets, and for some reason, cdg and junya. they had that junya x porter jacket that folds into a bag, and this other thin jacket which for some stupid reason was a size too small for me. i havent felt overpowering clothing lust in a while, and even though the jacket i wanted was obviously too tight in the shoulders at xs, my mind raced to rationalize a purchase. im still thinking about it. i feel like my heart is being torn open.. the pull is too strong, and i am so weak...

but anyway, i know that porter collab is a grail for some people, so its there in a size small for $1000.

Is that the MA-1 that folds into a bag??

I can't see the Styleforum Politics thread (or whatever it's called)...happened last time as well when I couldn't see the Styleforum Opinions on Greek Bailout Part 3 thread...
Is there a Styleforum Migrants into Europe opinion thread?

Suffice it to say the island i was born on has now housed 10s of thousands of refugees......enough for it to be guaranteed a place in heaven!  Even though according to the German press, we have the highest concentration of tax evaders in the Eurozone.

You're in the wrong sub-forum (although to be honest most of the threads in the CESspool should really be in Dumb Threads).

If you really want to venture there look under General> Current, Events Power & Money

Personally I avoid it. The world view is very American focused (because of where most members are from), and the level of debate tends to be uncompromisingly partisan.

I'd also rather not know that the person who I can have a friendly discussion with about clothes is a right wing nut job ;)

90+% of this (sub) forum are lefties, which is kind of surprising given its pretty much all about consumerism.

Being a lefty is more stylish because it makes you feel good about yourself.

Even though by being a fashionista you are almost by definition an egotist. There is certainly an ingrained contradiction but cognitive dissonance is ok if you don't think about it and just focus on the fashion.

What cut of Nonnative pants is best for bigger thighs (pref still with a small leg opening/taper)? Are the stretch denim stretchy enough to pull off or will they just be leggings?
Also, why is there no Nonnative pants?

Every time I see someone use a word like 'lefty' online, I'm happy I'll probably never meet them in real life.

lol fashion is cool and all but the proletariat WILL rise, and the fall of the capitalist bourgeoisie will be swift and without mercy (9.9)

anyway, benesyed I think you should wear shoes that aren't sandals or GATs, and a shirt that isn't too short. Other than that I think you should be good.

also, a number of junya x porter pop up on Rak-city with some regularity

I'm not so sure this forum can be boiled down to just consumerism at the end of the day. I generally meet less right voting people that are interested in culture, art, fashion, etc as I do left leaning voters with those interests. So that 90% makes sense to me.

American " lefties" are very capable of consumerism. Being progressive is a point of view not a set of rules . I worked 30 years in a socialist organization that operated in and profited from a capitalistic environment. Very few participants saw it as contradictory or even ironic

This is going to be a very broad generalization, but in my experience most of the young people I have met who vote on the left side of the spectrum and the further left, the more correct is it. They come from money and have lived a sheltered life, they live in an expensive apartment their parents have paid for and drive a 5 series their parents have bought them, all paid for with money their parent have made working at the big 6. All while they are studying human sciences at an ivy league uni "because everyone needs to have the same opportunities". I want to add something here, but I won't.

I don't know about the art and fashion part, I do think that most artists are left voters though.

I actually found that the wealthier, more silver spoon type kids I met in college tended to be the more republican voting, or at least from conservative families.
