In this years Fargo, there's a character, Munch, who is a mercenary and whose origin is ambiguous - just sort of old country-ish. His style has been really interesting. BAMF posted on Instagram on Munch's style.

It has a lot of funhouse mirror Frank Leder vibes to me. I like it.

The last look is so good. The textures and silhouette are just so on point. Every piece separately also looks like a winner. Always cheering for Burberry.

Echoing this. It was covered in yesterday’s FT Fashion Matters newsletter with the line “rumours were abounding about how long Burberry can afford to wait for Lee’s designs to prove a hit” but to me this is where luxury brands need to be heading - moving firmly beyond streetwear and ostentatious branding, taking a step beyond stealth wealth, and making sophisticated and nuanced clothing.

Hi, so this may not be the best board to ask but I’ll try: I’m trying to make a “suit” with an old pair of black wool Lemaire trousers (carrot shape). I’m looking at vintage Armani double breasted jackets, I think they may fit with the style. Would charcoal work with black? Or should I just buy the whole suit? I don’t want to splurge and I like the whole 80s era Armani look. Thanks!

In my experience, you're better off with a perfect match or something with a clear contrast. I've tried it before with different coloured navy on top and bottom, but it ends up feeling a bit off. Especially if the texture/weave doesn't match as well. I'd suggest a clear contrast on at least one of those points (texture, colour etc.).

Fashion Roadman recently streamed and one guest mentioned that somewhere around 40% of Burberry's revenue/profit (guest wasn't sure himself) comes from outlet stores. Plus market share shrinking despite growing revenues. So agreed - they're definitely in a transitional period now.

Finally got around to watching the "Tár". The costume designer did an amazing job with the wardrobe for Cate Blanchett's character. I recommend watching it for the fashionz alone.

Are newsboy caps out of style at this point? Asking for a friend.
I mean probably but who cares. I see a fair number of people wearing them but that might be location specific (UK).

Merchant Fox have some tweed ones I could see working for you https://www.themerchantfox.co.uk/products/charcoal-and-black-herringbone-oversized-30s-8-panel-cap

I have a Freewheelers one I like wearing that doesn't feel too costume-y.

I keep wondering if there's a male fashion equivalent to Eileen Fisher. Upper mid market pricing, capsule like consistency across seasons, eco-aware production, somewhat casual, similar vibe, etc. Who's close? Style wise I can see MHL and Studio Nicholson could fit.
