Speaking of swd loafers, I’ve been looking at the Alden EG collab in black calf vs some blackstock and webers, which I think I like more bc the lug sole is much chunkier. Anybody know how the blackstock and webers fit compared to Alden lhs?

I have Alden LHS in the Van last (I think) and a pair of B&W with the chunky Vibram soles and I took both in my standard loafer size, which is 1/2 down from my typical leather shoe/boot size. I tried the B&W at a 1/2 size down from my typical loafer size and I could have swung it without any socks but my toes basically had no room. It's definitely a roomier last than the Van but may or may not be roomy enough to justify another 1/2 size down.

Thanks, that’s really helpful. The lhs fit the best I’ve ever gotten on loafers, but still I can’t fill out the volume in the heel/back of the foot. If I try the b&w, I may go down a half and see.

Are there any SFers currently living in Switzerland/Liechtenstein or will be traveling to either soon? Looking for a proxy.

I recently realized that I've worn some version of easy pant virtually every day for as long as I can remember. I started with some lightweight cotton easy pants from Uniqlo a few years back. That eventually led to some Orslow cord New Yorker pants last fall and later the SDC tapered pants in linen/cotton and hemp/cotton and more Orslow New Yorkers in cotton ripstop.

Other than one meeting this year where I needed a jacket and tie it's been elastic pants all the way!

I'm under their spell, I've got this floating thought that I could happily wear shorts 6 months a year and get away with it. Haven't figured yet how to square the beach bum aspiration with my passion for fashion, it's not easy...
