If you remove the “white” part isn’t that to be expected? I’m not convinced that the fashion industry is to blame for youth, fitness, height etc. being part of the ideals of beauty. I’d say it’s pure biology.

To some extnent, you expect the industry to set the ideals of beauty, rather than pander to its audience. Brands pushing wide fits aren't failing, brands that use people of color as models aren't failing.

It's also worth noting that nobody said anything about "fitness" -- it's thinness that brands value in models. Models are very often thin to the point of being unhealthy, and also promoting an unhealthy body image.

Hollywood isn't shy about casting actors who are shorter or closer to average weight, especially when thehy're still hot. Body diversity doesn't mean using unattractive models, not by a long shot.

But some brands love using bland or unattractive models. The model should not be the focus, the focus should be the clothes.

Any recommendations for spiritual successors to Well Spent? In terms of filtering through the noise and frequently/consistently recommending specific products currently available for sale, sourcing deals, etc., maybe as well as having recs in other categories such as home goods.

I'm aware there are blogs that have links to products within their longer stories about some concept or particular style. I'm instead asking specifically for something that's first and foremost focused on the products.

I think the GQ and Esquire online roundups have taken over that role to a certain extent. Weekly roundups and sale picks are written by a dedicated staff at those places (distinct from their editors)

I have long accepted that I am not the type of guy who would wear a sweater vest as a tank top. Consider accordingly.

How nice of them to use recycled plastics for this - that should surely make up for the fact that every point played will mean one more tennis ball bopping around the ocean for eternity.

edit: I just realised that the side of this reads Plastic waste is a problem

Every scientist: "We really should do something about plastic in the ocean."

Adidas and Parley, barely listening: "Plastics in the ocean. We're on it."
