I'm definitely of the Nakagawa opinion. We need to K-pop-troll the **** out of whatever norm item they try to use as a rallying symbol. They don't get to appropriate Hawaiian shirts, or anything to be fair - **** them. It would be too easy for assholes to just take something from mainstream culture and taint it, ruin it for everyone else. It's giving them too much importance to tip-toe around what they claim as theirs. Just negate that claim entirely.

I think they're still OK as long as you're not marching around at night with them. Don't let themI'm pissed they screwed with my tiki torches.

If thousands of tiktokers and young people everywhere start using it, they'll drown that ascribed meaning in an ocean of meaningless ? in a matter of weeks - this is how we claim back everyday symbols like that. If we stay silent and accept it, they win. I want a million march for BLM with everyone in hawaiian shirts doing ? to claim that **** back from a small minority of assholes. or maybe that's giving them too much importance...?I grew up with the "OK" hand symbol being used for just that. They have already taken that and there is no turning back.
