Just throwing Thievery Corporation on shuffle, personally.

Late 90s/early 00s downtempo is good music for the False Apocalypse. I've found myself listening to a lot of Fila Brazillia, the K+D Sessions, the Bristol Trip Hop bands (I forgot how damn good the Mad Professor's remixes of Massive Attack are), Air, Boards of Canada, etc. Keeps the blood pressure down.

Personally, I’ve been listening to The Police a lot lately. So Lonely seems to be in my head. “...All made up and nowhere to go... So lonely! So lonely! So lonelyyyyyy...” Except I’m wearing pajamas.

And a lot of 90’s hip hop from college- Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul...

cleaning house, came across an odd, rare bit of ephemera from a heritage brand. reached out, why yes they'd like it back.

from the thrift to the archives, always nice to find a good home for good vintage.

Can you walk me through the scenario that led to this?

Certainly. I have been wearing the same frames for over a year now and wasn't about to let a pandemic stand in the way of my vanity, so I inquired around to some local opticians to see if any of them might be able/willing to handle online/via mail. This dude - Anthony Aiden - replied in no time and was like "I will meet you curbside".

Next day, bam.

huh, my reaction to anyone emailing me with, "I will meet you curbside" is 100%, "This person will kidnap me and harvest my organs."

diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, i guess.

But how great will my corpse look in JMMs?

I really like Anthony Aiden's shop on St Mark's in NYC. It was my go-to spot for glasses for a few years but then my insurance changed :/ and it was no longer compatible. I would def trust those people not to curbside kidnap me.

Definitely had some 90's and 00's electronic music flash backs lately. I expect I'll rediscover acid-jazz at some point soon. Fell in a youtube memory hole with tracks the other night. One thing that really stood out was seeing live footage of festivals and concerts and all the bodies. Nice to see some vintage tracks seem to be just as transcendent and vital to the youth as they were when they first dropped ....

Another vague fashion advice request: I would like to add some shirts to my wardrobe that are outside the vary narrow realm of white and blue cotton Ts and collared button downs that I continually default to. I am also looking for options for warmer weather. I was therefore thinking silk, viscose or similar. I was also hoping for some options of the short-sleeve variety. My mind goes to silk polos. In line with that, I am thinking on the dressier side of things, and away from street/workwear. In terms of color/patterns, I lean toward more conservative but am open to suggestions as long as they're not flames emblazoned on a bowling shirt.

Basically, I just need to a list of brands to look at, as I haven't a clue where to start.

Sting's shirt in this video is in the vain I'm going for.

Help me, people.
