the New Standards I have on my shelf are built out of the shiniest denim that makes it hard to wear for me.
Throw them into wash on delicate, and then hang dry, and you’ll likely be fine, at least ime.

Even feeling the fabric between the two in your hands says that you're lying.

I remember buying a pair of APC New Cures well over a decade ago and sizing down on them - was a very uncomfortable week until I realized they wouldn't stretch any further and sold them. Funny enough, my current favorite jeans are APC Martins, and I've been wearing my Petit Standard corduroys quite a bit this season.

Dior jeans… I also had the infamous Jake 17.5cm.

I think I joined the denim hunt on the tale end of Dior (2006-7?), and had no money back then, so never owned a pair.

It's crazy that a trend (low rise jeans) debuted 25 years ago is still haunting us.

Apparently you know nothing because you admit you never bought them? Are you trying to brand drop something else to prove yourself or something?

you're obviously oblivious to the fact that the 19cms were based off the apc ns and were superior in every way lmao gtfo scrub bet you can't even size down 5 like an og

That goes away after a few wears. It's not exactly uncommon across multiple brands.
I wore them a lot for a couple months and they are still shiny. I guess I could wash them like Fok said but what about my fadez. My old APC"s that I traded in for these still had the best fades I've ever done myself.

I had the same problem with my APCs when I first got them back in 2009 or whenever. A cold soak in a bathtub softened them up without ruining any fade potential, at least not in any noticeable or measurable way. They were nearly unwearable before that, so if you're in the same boat, there's not much choice in the matter anyway.

What width belt do you guys prefer? Narrower belts seem to be having a bit of a moment and I recently got a 1" belt and was surprised by how much narrower it looks compared to 1.25". Looks a bit strange, but maybe I'm just not used to it?

My go to belts are between 0.75” to 1.25, with 1” being the most commonly worn two in my standard five belt rotation. You get used to both the width and the comfort.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
