I feel the opposite!! I feel like straw hats are my jam, especially open crowns
I look like someone put the wrong Lego head on the wrong figure. I might be able to try a simple black bucket cap, and may try.

Straw, beav, I like them all. Once you find out you can pull them off and not look like a wrong lego head they’re just another thing to collect..

Has anyone got any leads on this Kestin brushed Shetland in Colbolt in XL? Everywhere I look is sold out, but I would also be open to alternatives if anyone has suggestions? Need to be the same or very similar color and a looser fit would be appreciated too.

Howlin' might be a good alternative. this color seems similar and has XL and XXL incase you want to size up

I tried to wear a hat that was not some type of cap, and the results were not pretty. The hat is cool though.
Since you like newboy and ballcaps have you tried Göttmann? I have one of their winter gore tex ballcaps with foldable ear flaps and it is quite nice.

What are some basic "a shirts" / under shirts that don't veer too far into luxury but still a couple of notches above fruit of the loom, etc. I think I'm rehashing a previous topic. Curious how others have liked their higher end ones anyways. Worth it?

Here's an example although I sort of want something that's ribbed. I like their underwear as DWW recommended years ago. https://www.tommyjohn.com/products/cool-cotton-tank-2-0-3-pack?color=white

It’s a bit boring, but I’m pretty happy with MUJI for the most part. If I want something a bit more fancy I go with Sunspel (including the CDG Shirt Underwear colabs).

Always seem to enjoy Kyle Chaka's writing. He's got a new book out and interview with him in the NYT with Erza Klein came out where they touch on senses of personal style and taste in the age of algorithms and the unfolding AI world. Might be of interest to folks here. It's not focused on clothes but taste in general.

ITW promoting the same book, might be better cause the itwer is a pro not a pundit.

Current affairs ITW recently popped up in my podcasts but it seems to be from june and about previous book. Transcript posted here, I listened to the itw and it was waay better (Nathan Robinson dresses like a dork but he has an angle -even to his aesthetic- and is good at the Chomsky, straightforward exposition of a topic):

Extremely late to the party - I knew paa existed for a long time but never took a look at them until literally last week, when I randomly ran across their storefront in LA Chinatown. Great stuff. Went back today to pick up some shirts I had my eyes on, and the shop was completely cleared out. Hopped on IG to see if there was any news and I guess the brand is no more =(

Wish I got into them sooner! Bad timing on my part.

BTW check out their farewell sale =(

yeah, that's a bummer about paa
Retail is tough right now. If you care about a brand or retailer, buy from them at full or close to full price. With the credit markets so tough right now, a lot of them are in mlore tenuous positions than you might think. The issues at Farfetch, YNAP. Neiman Marcus, Saks, are endemic throughout the industry
