Visvim just opened their 3rd US store in Carmel, California. Will check it out next time I'm in the area, though I can't afford anything especially with a couple little ones.

It'll be interesting, the stores that have lasted there are on the menswear side (think Khaki's of Carmel) and I can only think of 3 mens clothing stores currently open though it is a small town. A few streetwear stores have opened over the years but none of them lasted.

Maybe this is signaling a shift? The food scene (and in nearby Monterey) is picking up with chefs from larger metros like San Francisco moving to the area partly for a better work/life balance.

I imagine the majority of people shopping at places like Visvim would be visitors, not locals. For the longest time I've only seen guys wearing menswear or athleisure but when I went earlier this year I saw a dude wearing Margiela.

@LA Guy I met Rafael Dos Anjos in Carmel Plaza a couple years ago, his son was playing with mine. We chatted for a few minutes, nice dude.
I used to live in the area (PG). Crazy money with plenty of time to spend it. But the local "style" tends toward golf gear and Cucinelli...Visvim seems like an odd fit.

Yea, I ended up stopping by over the weekend and apparently Hiroki moved to the area. Makes more sense now though it will be interesting to see how the store does. Some of the women's shops have similar vibes but menswear is completely different.

Has anyone bought from here before? I'm interested in a bag and they are the only ones to have it in stock.

Anyone got a wonderful cobbler in nyc? I've had mixed experiences. My Raf/CK205W39NYC cowboy boots have started to squeak with each step and I want to get them touched up.

Navy ribbed knit sweater. Boots; black, brown or cordovan color. White t-shirt. White sneakers. Some possibilities.

That navy suggestion is killer. I assume you mean laced boots, not chelsea? (not in possession of others currently)

This google image looks great. Adding that navy sweater would top it off.

A white or cream colored knit sweater or different colored t-shirts, such as yellow or navy would work also. You could wear colored sweatshirts such as coral, white, navy or a dark green.

I only had grey available to hand. Not sold on the shoes, but the top two thirds give me that 40s/50s vibe.
