I am not the guy who gets geeked-out about upcoming releases, but fuuuuuuck, that preview before the Avengers! Might have been better than the movie that followed.

Technically yes, the OG was that she ended up winning their respect by fighting with them to defeat an alien horde. The sequel comics explore her actually joining them in hunts, etc. It went off the reservation….

Yes, I remember not liking the sequel as much either.

They did take some of the ideas and themes from the graphic novel and used them in the first AvP movie. Too bad they didn't follow more of it.

I don't see how anyone could make a AvP film without the film being the scifi equivalent to a boxing/wrestling film from like the 40s or something. To me it just doesn't work in any context where it's not poor taste. I just don't see how you can match Ridley's high brow ambitions when he works within scifi with such an absurd spectacle.

I don't know, I think their is a scenario - set in the future where you could make it work. The original comic is a good start with some tweaks.

I disagree with the premise that following the original AvP graphic novel would make for a good film. The AvP graphic novel sucked balls.

Missed this... Ok, it's been over a good 10 to 13 years since I read it but I remember it being a solid story. Now I am curious if I still have it in storage. Might be worth digging up to read again.

Holy Sh!t!! It gives invasive spices a whole new different meaning. Whatever-that-is reaches earth, we don't stand a chance, I'd kill myself to spare myself next level hell graphic demise.

Its far from perfect but it has the elements of a decent story with two out of three characters being mute alien species.

That trailer makes me sort of nervous. It's not enough to tell, but I was hoping for a tone more similar to Alien or just as "off" and this trailer seems to suggest a tone more inline with a conventional Hollywood adventure film.

I agree it's not as dark as Alien and more colorful, but I do like the look so far. The spacesuits have a classic sci-fi, pulp feel to them.
