No hate, but that shirt looks pretty uncomfortable. Looking at the placket, even while standing up, most of the buttons on the front are pulling.

What's up with everyone on SF being a sarcastic douchebag? Who the **** cares what threads are made aside from annoying dickwads who think they own this forum and the Internet? If you don't want to read it just don't open it.

I realize it may seem so from the photo, but i assure you it's very comfortable. It does pull a little when I move my arms apart like in a hugging motion and it probably wrinkled the shirt after many hours of wearing it.

Seriously, chill out. This could be a helpful thread for people who are unsure about MTM. I, for one, wish someone would post MT's suits here.

My shirts from MT also have a similar snug fit. If I sit down and slouch in my chair, there is a little pull in the front, but I agree it's a very comfortable fit. I'd easily take that slim fit over the tent-like fit that I used to have on my old dress shirts, where I was constantly trying to re-tuck my shirts so that I didn't have a ridiculous blousing problem around my waist. :p

I'm 5'10" and 164 lbs. Here's are the measurements (inches) I inputed for my first few shirts. They're slim, but not uncomfortably so. I'll post some fit pics when I get a chance:

Collar: 15.63
Half Chest: 21.5
Half Waist: 19
Half Hip: 19.5
Left and Right Sleeve: 25.5
Half bicep: 7.25
Left Cuff: 8.88
Right Cuff: 8.5
Yoke: 17.75
Shoulder: 6.25
Shirt Lenght: 30.5
Armhole: 10.5

I'm about the same measurements as you. A little bigger chest. Is that shirt tight around the hip? There's normally a bigger increase from the half waist to the half hip. Also how is the length for tucking in vs untucked? I settled on 29.75 to give myself a choice. I think BoO is 29 but most dress shirts I have are around 32.

I think if you're going to wear your shirts untucked, the shorter measurement will work well. As is, I have rounded ends on my shirt with about 5 inches of material thats tucked (low rise pants). If you're my height, your length measurement should give you approx 4 inches tucked on the sides which I think should be OK. I wear my shirts tucked so I like the tighter hip measurement to keep the shirt from sliding up. But if I were to wear them untucked, I would need to bump the hip measurement another inch for a cleaner look

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
