Beautiful watch! I have a Yema French Air Force Armée de l'Air Automatic Superman and a Quartz Marine Nationale Diver.

Did you get this new or pre-owned? As it looks like a recent model.

Thank you. It's brand new. Pre-ordered few months ago and just received.

How are old Bulova watches in general, circa 1930-1970? There are a few in my family including one bought by my great-grandfather. I have no intention of selling them, just curious as to Bulova's previous reputation. Well aware they are mid tier now, I'm curious about how they were in the past.

I couldn't tell you anything about the pre-60s stuff but I know they have some models in the '60s and '70s that are relatively collectible, though they also started to manufacturer a lot of crap in the '70s as well. Like Seiko and Citizen, they are a brand that definitely had some gems in their lineup over the years but things went downhill during the quartz boom.

There is an Accutron/Bulova/Caravelle-focused subforum on WatchUSeek that has some much more knowledgeable posters, especially when it comes down to a lot of the vintage stuff.

During the Art Deco era, they had their own in-house shaped movements, and were seen as just one tier below the top, which was occupied by Hamilton
