If it was made in the Grand Seiko factory (like the 40mm one they did a few years ago) then fair enough, but over 3 grand for a Seiko with a glorified nh35 in it? If it was the same price as the willard or turtle I'd be all over it.

I understand your point and won't deny that the watch is a little overpriced, but it's a limited edition (1965 pieces), the movement has been improved and, most of all, it's stunning.

The 6L is a very different movement from the 6R series. Everything I've read is that it is on the same level as the 8L, with the exception that one is made by Seiko and the other by Grand Seiko. That said, as much as I love the size and details for this one, it's not a $3K watch for me and will be passing.

I love all the G-Shocks I have and have had and though the “Rangeman” is my favorite, there are always some iterations of the “Mudman” and “Frogman” I really like.

I just got an email from one of the stores I’ve bought from in the past about a new Frogman that looked pretty cool and matches the yellow and black Rangeman I have and I thought to myself, “Maybe now’s the time!”

G-Shock MRGBF1000E-1A9 Limited Edition MR-G Frogman Yellow

Then I clicked through and saw that the price was $6,400. 😅

Nope!

I'm thinking of putting my Oris Aquis Whale Shark up for sale, as I rarely wear it and it's a bit chunky. If I replace it, I think I'd like to do so with a poor man's GMT. I've become interested in the Christopher Ward C63 GMT in green, although the logo really annoys me (why don't they have the new logo on these?). Any thoughts on this watch, CW in general, or other GMTs in similar price range (thinking sub $2k or even $1.5k or less)?

I have the non-GMT version of this watch with the same dial. I really enjoy it. The bracelet and quick adjust clasp are very nice. Nice finishing for this price range. The dial color is fun as well. I prefer the brushed bracelet to my Aqua Terra bracelet as well. The only thing I'd warn you about is that those CW fabric straps are stiff as $%+# and I threw mine in a drawer after wearing it once. I also think the CW bracelet is one of the best features of their watches and would order the watch on the bracelet.

Most definitely- an attractive bracelet beats a strap any old day.

I really like this one. Lovely green shade on the dial with matching orange accents, also on the nice strap.

Another attractive GMT diver, the Lorier Hydra, at $600 also a bargain.

That Lorier is actually pretty interesting. As petty as it may sound, I think the Christopher Ward logo on that C63 is a deal breaker.

The other Lorier GMT, the Hyperion, is pretty interesting too:

Both are currently sold out, so I signed up for their email updates. Will do some more digging into people's experiences with them, but at $600 seems like a good value and pretty much exactly what I'm looking for right now in that "slot" of my watch box.

I may buy too many watches in light of the fact I have experience with all of these. :) I have the non-GMT dive watch from Lorier sitting in my drawer of watches to sell. It's okay. Nothing bad but also nothing special about it. I would see it on my wrist and simply go "meh." It's on par quality-wise with other microbrands that have a Miyota movement in them. Definitely a big step down quality wise from CW, Halios or others like that.

I'll also add that I suspect that CW GMT will have the new logo within the next year, if you're patient.

Eterna Adventic GMT manufacture. In-house movement and there's a couple brand new ones for sale on eBay for well under $1,500.
