It doesn't seem like there is a "standard" size. Check Kent Wang site for the measurements on his. Compare to what you see sold at boutiques and department stores. If you see any common sizing conventions, let us know.

Pity, one of the few I like from there is in...green, to bad there isnt a pink/purple version. A lot of the heavier silks both printed and woven look better in the pocket in a smaller square 13-14", the lighter fabrics look better in a 16-18" square.

It may be true that they are dying but they are not dead yet, it is up to guys like you and me to keep them alive. If there is anything I know it is how to keep a dying fad afloat, as you can plainly see.

I almost always wear a pocket square, but exclusively use a white linen in a TV fold. I had one, and I ironed it as needed. Unfortunately, about a week ago someone spilled something on it, and it's now ruined. I quickly bought another one just like it (or so I thought). I've found that this new square is too big to fit correctly in any of my jackets and coats. The old one is gone now, so I can't compare the measurements. The new one is 17"x17". A friend suggested folding it in half one extra time, but that doesn't help.

For silk, I think around 16 x 16 is pretty standard and for cotton around 12 x 12. If the breast pocket is a patch pocket, you would probably want a slightly smaller square.

dying fad? never. I feel naked if I put on a sports coat or suit without a crisp hanky in a bankers fold.

hey since were on the topic of pocket squares.

Does anybody here use an actual handkerchief rather than a fashion store bought "pocket square" per se?

Yeah, I mostly just wear a white linen one.

Yet your avatar is perhaps the most advanced pocket square i have seen. Far beyond the level of the occasional glasses or even phat guido's nicely executed pen in the WAYWRN.
