So basically what your saying is that HRH is breaking BOTH youre rules for "gentleman": (1) Right pinkie and (2) same not "opposite" hand and you believe you have something valuable to say.

Nevermind I should have known better than to ask at this forum.

That is NOT what I am saying.

metrosexual? wtf

It was a marketing term referring to heterosexual men who had adopted the alleged higher standards of personal grooming etc. of (stereotyped) homosexual men - more recently termed 'manscaping' by the same kind of marketing types. There's plenty of evidence from surveys that in cities like NY, something between 30 and 50% of younger men now depilate, for example.

Thanks FM. My point was that the reference was so outdated I couldn't believe it being cited. Hope you're well.

Wow bite me!!!! It seems some on this forum aren't familiar with polite discourse. Who said I need to "justify" anything to anyone.

My "discourse" is simply the steps any person would go through in buying a ring. Match the jewelry you already wear, make sure its width is suitable for finger length, choose metal, choose stones (if any). I hardly think that's a self-justifying discourse.:fence:

Those who turn up from nowhere to ask questions about obscure topics harbour an insecurity about the topic they raise: If you want one, get one, it matters not what anyone else thinks....

Wow, welcome to the forum. SF used to be fun and interesting. No wonder I just lurk these days. Used to enjoy discussions of possible purchases, pros and cons, where to buy, what to consider etc. Oh well...

What does your armchair psychology say about longtime forum members who seem to have a hobby of being a total dick and ass-****** newbie first posts?

I am, thank-you. And I find I take things much more at face value since I moved to Canada...

A gentleman may also choose to wear a ring on other appendages. Gentleman of good taste will know what I am talking about.

I wear my great grandfathers signet ring with our crest, each generation has worn it. So I think if you're comfortable with it go for it (bloodstone setting no all gold) but that black diamond thing looks like you mugged some woman and shoved her bad engagement ring on your finger. No offence.

Hardly ass-****. Did you actually download the picture the OP attached? There are a lot harsher things that could be said about his taste in jewelry. "Go get one if you want one" is pretty decent.
