Michael filling in for Marlo? No way, Michael has no respect on the street. The guys on his own corner hardly respect him. Unless Marlo's crew canabilizes itself, I think Michael a dead man walking. Going to break my heart.

Same with Dookie, going to be so sad. It already is. He's lost now.

McNaulty! We all knew this was going to happen, but wow, the tension is palatable. I'm on edge waiting for the other shoe to drop. I think he's going to be hit hard, and take it hard, without anyone to fall back on (losing his wife and family).

I agree with the above regarding the actor that plays Bubbles, he is awesome.

Michael is also a good guy deep down. He has emotion, unlike Marlo.

This is why I said Michael might become the next Barksdale, who has a certain amount of (corrupted) character as well. I can easily imagine Avon starting out somewhat like Michael.

I think in season 4 there was a certain parallel set up between the 4 kids and some older characters on the show. Michael was the young Avon, Randy the young Stringer, Dukie a young Bubbles, and Namond...not sure, maybe a young Clay Davis? I can see Michael making it somehow. I'm not sure who said he didn't have the respect of his peers on the corner, but I don't see that. He's a tough motherfucker and everyone knows it. He's a good guy and he's also seriously cold blooded. He'd make a good cop actually.

I've heard this theory before, but the one that I really can't see is Randy as Stringer. But for the rest of them, it definitely makes sense.

Spoilers incoming! I just watched the finale. It was an hour and 40 minutes, so it had time to tie-up all the loose threads. As expected, there was some good and some bad, but i won't get in to specifics since most haven't seen it yet.

+1

And that story nominated for a Pulitzer and not the fake story (homeless killer)

I am watching 4th season and I'm reminded how bad that one cop is who looks like Edge from U2. Just terrible casting on HBOs part, and his character is written really badly too. For a series which derives so much of its worth from its unsurpassed authenticity, this is certainly a bit of a problem. I cannot stand when this guy speaks.

So yeah, I watched it. I suppose this thread will pick again (for a final time) on Sunday.
