I get the feeling that perhaps Norton & Sons aren't making a great deal of money and that the rtw spin off could be lucrative for them. Plus Patrick Grant seems to fancy himself as a bit of a Tom Ford character...

A little bit...

He likes being the frontman but all businessmen are a little ego driven..

I visited Norton's cutting room. Well... there is barely space for nine people.

I think perhaps the journalist may be mistaking tailors with cutters.

By your reckoning this would mean that:

Huntsman died when Gordon Alsleban left.

Gieves & Hawkes died when Patrick Murphy left.

Davies & Sons died when Patrick Murphy (the year before).

I think you underestimate the resilience of Savile Row.

I didn't say that but when a talented cutter like david Ward is leaving ,it is never a good thing for a tailoring house...

Now Huntsman has got Murphy and Ward and they would have me back...

Yes and no...

Anderson or Huntsman suits are only as good as the tailoring team doing the work...

Some people think an Anderson suits is always great because of its DNA...

Have you seen some of the disasters on SF?

Too many people buy bespoke for the name on the door and that's for me an echo of the designers lifestyle promises...
