When I lived in Chicago 30 years ago I had an alterations tailor who was
trained in Paris and also worked for Ultimo, one of the very high-end mens
shops. At his shop one often saw Savile Row and Italian bespoke in for alterations.
He considered Oxxford, in terms of hand work and quality, the equal of the
