Don’t encourage this absolute trainwreck waiting to happen. He’s about to waste money. I’m trying to save him from his own lack of experience
Who am I to deprive my alterations tailor from business that won’t do what our fellow poaster wants it to do but keeps her shop open. 😂

Will be making the purple herringbone tweed for a client later this year. looking for trouser color options.
Open to suggestions
Already thinking greys and light tan/cream.
Looking for other creative or fun options?
A very light "powdery" blue.

I have a pair of these and could totally see it matching well.

Ochre corduroy. Pink or light blue for something showy.

Those colors don't pair well as pants and can be a bit costumey. I would only use ochre, powder blue, and pink for shirts or knitwear.

I think a cold shade of dark brown may work. I'm thinking corduroy, but flannel or cavalry twill should be fine too. A bit boring compared to the other suggestions, perhaps.

Good options in my eyes, some more safe, some more adventurous. All heavyweight corduroy by Brisbane Moss.

I want to have some suits and topcoats made abroad and have them unlined. My plan is to bring them back to the US and add in lining (I've heard bemberg is the best) locally. Is that possible? I want them to be full canvas and to be able to see the canvas to make sure it's full canvas.

no

Those colors aren't well suited for purple tweeds; maybe for an old man tweed like Russel plaid. I see why everyone sticks to brown.

When wearing a bold jacket like purple you'll want to find ways to tone it down. Pants are the first option at being subtle with some hints of dandy in shirt. For pink, green, and light blues break it up with a stripe like sooo.

As always, to each his own. Not saying that your combinations look bad, but I also like something bolder.

And in my suggestions are muted shades too.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
