I too would say that such a fit is best accomplished via rtw. But I hope I will stand corrected.
The reason why I think this is that with bespoke you want a perfect fitting garment. Of course this could be cut wider (like the dukes coat), but to my eye the coat you are basing the commission on is 2 sizes too large. And frankly unflattering.

The dukes coat is large but like one size larger than normal for the time, and don't forget the cloth, the duke definitely used a really heavy cloth so basically the coat hangs from the shoulders in a pretty flattering way. Anyway good luck and I hope it will workout for you!

Hi guys,

Hope you are well.
Update of my second fitting at Sartoria Florio from Paris France on my first black suit :
- Style : One button / Peak Lapel / High structured shoulders / Napolitan pants
- Fabric : Black Dormeuil Sportex - 300g

I'm really happy of this second fitting and I praise the dedication and pedagogy of this young parisian tailor. Also this Dormeuil fabric is really nice and has a clean drape. Can't wait to see the final fitting.

what's wrong with the Anthology one then, not enough drape or slouch kind relax fit?
Basically. The lapels and button stance don't feel like the ideal polo coat for me. Too high. It's also too short for what I'm looking for.

It's also double the price of what CMT + my tailor charges.

I do wonder if my tailor basically will make this coat like a "factory" garment, and it's more like commissioning a RTW/MTO coat just from one guy vs. a factory, but I'm ok with that.

Saw this one on Sartoria Florio's IG a few days ago, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Actually, blue or - even worse - navy cotton suit is a bad idea; it ages really badly, and does not worth going bespoke!

Your choices are very nice.

Best,

Dimitris
I don’t agree, Dimitris.

Indeed, navy cotton fades remarkably more than other colours but this is/can be part of its charm.

It may be argued that it is a falatia ad populum but my old Neapolitan tailor who is serving equally old Neapolitan gentlemen always has navy cotton or linen suits to be tried on when I visit him.

Cross post from the Unfunded Liabilities thread. Thinking about getting a black linen suit made. Anyone here have one or have any experience with black linen? I want something I can wear to dinner or with denim at night with a white shirt, black polo or rayon shirt in the spring and summer.

I am specifically looking for something that is not super formal. I have really enjoyed my black corduroy suit, and thought it would be nice to have an option for the summer as well.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't think he posts on here anymore but @boringbear has some awesome black linen and has done a few for clients. He recently did one in Spence Bryson that looked awesome and had some really solid texture to it.
How has this held up?
It's been solid. Probably my most worn suit in the spring/summer, break it up fairly regularly as a separate as well and no signs of trouble.
