@Crispyj I was also bummed that the Mare gun club never came to pass … But Q’s stock looks promising 👀

Who made that? Was that satoki? I remember you had a jacket like that made for your first jacket from satoki, but can’t remember. But it doesn’t look like satoki (it’s hard to tell from the photo)

If I recall, the main reason I passed on that fabric was from talking to people about the mare fabric. It would’ve worn too warm for my liking during the summer.

At any rate, I’m quite excited about the gunclub jacket that I have coming this fall. I just didn’t realize it was a gunclub until this conversation! 😂

Unless it’s “custom made”. Then it could be bespoke, MTM, or MTO.

this thread isn’t “custom made” though it’s “bespoke” 🤷🏻‍♂🤦🏻‍♂️

Did you reserve that vintage LP cashmere yet? I'm having second thoughts on that fabric...

All yours man. It’s a beauty but I’m doubling down on summer tailoring (something like the gun club he’s making you).

Appreciate the tip though 🙏

This cosplayer igent living his best life after working in boring tech. Putting his life on display.
Did Andy kick your dog or something? Seems super harsh for someone who in my (IRL) experience doesn't deserve the dragging.

This one would've been nice if it got funded.

I don't suppose you mean to say that you didn't buy the cloth but it's available? I assume you mean not enough people wanted it so they never made a run.

I suppose I don’t get as excited by gunclubs as others. Especially gunclub tweeds. For me, tweeds are larger patterned & plaid.
I am not sure there's a super strict definition of gunclub, but I think a large pattern plaid in some sort of earth tones would probably be gunclub, if the large pattern isn't too large. I guess what does large mean? (Don't ask the people lying about what lengths.)

But in all seriousness, I also have a tweed that's ... some sort of nailhead, I think. Quite rough. I actually like it a fair bit. Cheap old-school fused YSL-branded but for the near-zero price I paid, well, I like wearing it every so often.

Of course most of my tweeds are the more standard kind. My other favorite, other than the one I linked above, is one of Bruce Boyer's old jackets I got from luxeswap:

So I feel like I already own some of the more standard tweeds, but I just really want a gunclub that I can wear, ideally, in San Jose weather for more than 3 months a year. And it's been stuck in my mind for a year now so I'll probably have one made.

Very interesting. Photos of full rig?

Nice! Seems appropriate for your weather? Much more so than a 480g tweed ;) I assume smooth worsted? Do you like the combination of smooth worsted and a more rustic pattern like gunclub? I am still trying to decide what I like and what I can wear. I know, I know, next year's problems (since I have decided to do maximum one commission a year...) but I want to noodle on it for a while.
High twist so it feels more like a fresco or mockleno but tightly woven
