Commissioned a navy blue blazer from Steed, single-breasted. I went for gilt buttons because why the hell not. The fabric was a bunch that Matt likes and has used for his travel suit, I think it was "Yorkshire Textiles" or "Yorkshire Fabrics" or something like that. If it's robust enough to withstand years of being worn and hauled around on trunk shows, it's robust enough for me. Dark navy hopsack, 11-12 oz.
I’m looking forward to seeing this. Patch pockets?

Sounds good. Experimenting with buttons is low risk as they can easily be replaced.

Did you order anything on their current trip? I need to live through you and other Steed customers!
I didn't (I only received my last commission very recently). I'm going to order something in February, when they are back, though. In the meantime, I am getting something from Chan and Orazio Luciano.

Why are you on hiatus?

You guys and your 1000g overcoats are probably smelling like Hot Cheetos mixed with under the titty meat.

I’m thinking of lining mine with a 50/50 cashmere / silk lining. Not that I need it. Just an interesting added detail. I have the fabric & im so far away from doing anything with it, why not? My tailor doesn’t think it’ll wear any warmer but we’ll see in person.

@james.darley @P-K-L re: the younger Pirozzi (of Sartoria nunzio Pirozzi) being from kiton & starting his own Sartoria, I thought I read that somewhere. Second column.

Which makes it all the more confusing that there is another tailor named domenico Pirozzi that owns his own Sartoria haha. Can’t make this stuff up.

@jonathanS I thought about our previous conversation since I was recently reading the Sartoria Nunzio Pirozzi website where it mentioned Domenico’s past with Kiton.

The good thing is that both appear to produce excellent garments. Then which style is better is purely up to taste.

Also on a human level both are good and honest individuals, which is equally as important as being a great artisan.
