If that’s the case the tailors from Italy are not feeling a trip to the nation’s capital.
I wanted to add a visit to my city that doesn’t get many (any?) trunk shows so I reached out and asked how many commissions they’d need to make the trip worth it for them to add a stop for me. I thought the number was reasonable so I reached out to my IRL friends to do an interest check. If I fall an order or two short I’ll just place an extra order.

I’d imagine there is plenty of appetite to justify a DMV visit.

I think DWW has mentioned doing something similar in SF as well and it working out.

Well for the Gallo suit, I’m using Eric Jensen out of NYC. He trained under Gallo and partnered up with them. But I agree that most Italian tailors don’t travel well to the US.

For Nick, he was already making a trip to Dallas and asked if he could make a stop to Houston or Austin. He said he would stop by Houston for me to do my green suede gatorskin.

I’m guessing for both guys, it wasn’t too much more to travel to Houston from Dallas. I wouldn’t ask them to travel to Houston if they were only doing NYC, Chicago, SF or something like that.

From what I understand, most DC people don’t mind making a trip up to New York. For some reason, DC has never been a good city for Italian tailors. I remember a few years ago, Pino Peluso traveled to DC & never came back. I believe nsm used to travel to DC through no man walks alone. They no longer travel.

in theory, DC would be another good market but it doesn’t seem that way in practice (although will field seems to have made it work well for a while).
