Sony keeps making this trash so they can keep the rights to Spider-Man. Those rights make them a bucketload of cash in the end.

Kinda sad but understandable. They must give a big payday to the leads as most folks seem to know the films are going to tank badly by now.

They get around a 400 million check every MCU Spider-Man film. It’s easy easy money.

The actors like Tom Hardy and Taylor-Johnson must get serious money to make these things. I'll confess to not seeing anyone of them as they looked very bad.

I forget was the last Spiderman (with all of them) Marvel or Sony? I did see that one.

Tom Hardy's 3 Venom movies are the only ones in the Sony Spiderman Universe that made money. Hopefully, he got paid well for all of them. As for the others who got sucked into this sh!t, who knows? As I recall, Sydney Sweeney did Madame Web partially just so she could quid pro quo Sony into making Anyone But You, which worked out well for everyone.

All the Tom Holland Spiderman movies are produced by Marvel, but Sony has distribution rights, or something like that. Basically, Marvel pays Sony a ton of money to stay out of the way as much as possible without making them feel like they got relegated to the kids table.

I just watched the clip of James Gunn on GQ ranking his top 5 comic book/graphic novel to movie movies.

His #1? Into the Spiderverse which I know was critically loved but I've never seen it.

( #2 was Reeves Superman, which makes sense )

Unless you absolutely refuse to watch animation, you need to see it. Every part of that movie is phenomenal- story, voice acting, music, and the animation itself is just beautiful. It's a damn near perfect movie.

Both Spiderverse movies are great, with #2 only being limited by being effectively a part 1 of 2.

I'd rank my top 3 as:
3) Tim Burton's Batman
2) Into the Spiderverse
1) X2 (just love it so much)

I was doing IT consulting for Sony Pictures Entertainment when they made the first Spiderman with Toby Maguire, and I got to see it in a pre-release screening on the studio lot. That was cool. Got a sweet mug, too.
