So much recent Disney content has tried the nostalgia mining approach, and it's mostly fallen flat because it comes off as bland corporate memberberry mining.

This one works. There's an actual story they want to tell, and the absolute "heroin to the jugular" nostalgia is just a little treat for us OG fans.

Also X-Men. Finally the X-Men! It’s been so weird to see Marvel develop so many projects with Disney over the years without them. They are Marvel’s premier team. The most popular and hyped. Over the years it was always Spider-Man and X-Men. Glad to see them finally back home.
What's the situation with the rights for X-Men? It's not like there haven't been a ton of damn X-Men movies, they've just mostly been trash. They've burned through a lot of the classic stories and done a lousy job with them. Getting into the mainstream Disney treatment would be good for them, I just wonder if it's too late for this generation of content.

X-Men were my main comic fix as a kid. I still have the physical comic where Magneto rips the adamantium out of Wolverine.

They were with FOX for years. Marvel sold the rights off around the time they sold Spider-Man to Sony.

Disney now owns the movie/show rights to the X-Men so they are back with Marvel again.

There's an actual Iron Man cover that's pretty similar.

I didn't like the book very much.
It's funny how they created Tony Stark to be as unlikeable as possible, then Robert Downey Jr got ahold of the character and people were like "hey this drunken degenerate alcoholic billionaire is awesome."

I hated that they downplayed his alcoholism in the MCU. It’s a core part of the character.

Yeah I've been enjoying the hell out of X-Men '97, too. Amazingly seems to get better as we go through the season. Love how they retained just enough of the original's style while charting their own creative path. I've enjoyed it more than the vast vast majority of superhero content the last 15-20 years.

Hoping they don't **** it all up the second season.
