Wow, now that really annoys me. Inconsistent service is such a pain... I had a feeling in the back of my head I should have just tried calling back later. Well, glad it worked out for you.

I usually call, and am super polite, and always ask if they can do something for me, rather than demand anything or argue with them. The latter never works, If they say no, thank them for their help, and call backi in a few hours.

Sometimes, an overly polite request on social media works as well. The goal is to seem unreasonably reasonable.

Does it work for big retailer or mostly smaller retailers? How do you do the international call (dumb question)?

For international calls, I just use my phone? I suppose that if you don't have a worldwide coverage plan, whatsapp can work as well. This appraoched has worke for me for both large and small retailers. Mr, Porter, I've had nothing but truly great servive from, tardiness of a recont order aside,

For small retailers, you really only have one shot. For big retailers, you have multiple shots of gettng a different rep.

I will call the customer service number, usually, especially for bigger stores. Emails have also worked. I think that the important thing is to go in with no expection that you *deserve* any special consideration, and proceed accordingly.
