Long time no see , and a happy new year. Recently waxed Internationals, the black is I think from 1994, made in England, the other is a special edition from Country Attire. I find this shade of brown amazing

And here, for ***** and jiggles, a review of the Beaufort, the ultimate chic barn coat with flannel lining, with the drawback that it's not machine washable

Ok, I need a couple of belts for my internationals cause I have lost the one from my brown and seem to have misplaced the one from my black. Any suggestions? Black will suffice, made in the UK would be sweet. But I'm not paying 50€ for a strip of cotton

Does anyone have a "Rustic" colour of wax jacket such as Bedale or Beaufort. Seems to be a brown varient in the pictures. I've seen a used Bedale "Rustic" on eBay that am considering adding to my collection.

I think i'll give that colour a miss. Looks abit too purplely to me.

On a side note, Do you have any recommendations on getting rid of old musty ciggerate smell from waxed jackets. Already tried airing it outside, Spraying it with white vinegar and fabric freshner. Someone recommended putting it in the freezer for 3 days.

Freezer works on a surprising amount of smells. My wife thought I was a weirdo the first time she found my jeans in the freezer. Now she’s a convert.

Very versatile too. Maybe very slightly more. Overall, it very much depends on your wardrobe and taste

Speaking of maintenance, does anyone know why Barbour re-proofing has gotten so expensive!?

Pre-covid, I remember Barbour offered the service for free (at least through Nordstroms). Then, they started charging $25 per re-wax in 2022. Now they want $90 to do the job! (At least through Orvis).

Why has this gotten so pricey? Is doing it at home any more efficient? Especially considering when factoring in the wax cost ($25 bucks), and time+effort?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
