Hey all,

Vitale Barberis Canonico and Gladson (US rep for a bunch of top mills, ie. Hardy Minnis, VBC, Reda, E Thomas, Zegna, Carlo Barbera, etc.) are cohosting an event next Wednesday at Rizzoli in NoMad. Yoshimi Hasegawa, author on the tradition of bespoke tailoring across cultures, is wrapping her tour of Italian tailoring houses with the US release of "Italian Tailoring: A Glimpse into the World of Sartorial Masters". There's going to be a book signing, discussion, and presentation of some of the garments from the book.

I'm trying to rally a crowd, and figured where better than StyleForum to find some tailoring aficionados. Thanks!

Check out the event page here.

I won't be able to make the event, but I just finished going through my newly purchased copy, and it is a pure pleasure to see the people and personalities behind the great sartorial houses, with lovely photography.

There is a New York thread in the travel section that you might want to cross post this to. Also the Manhattan sales thread

Italian tailor from Yoshimi Hasegawa, this will be a really cool book. I think it's worth reading to all students who are planning to become designers. I recently found a website uk.papersowl.com where you can do your assignment, perhaps it will be useful to you. I don’t feel sorry for sharing this with you, because we students should help each other.

Well, I bought the book. Let me just say that there is much more to say on the topic. This type of books, and there are several from knowledgable internet writers in the same kind of superficial format, leave a lot to be desired if you want some broader coverage and depth. Possibly, it is the publishing houses that believe in this picture-rich style low on content.
