Oh yeah ! I have one friend who had to deal with bed bugs and I heard about the whole extermination and cleaning ordeal for months... and the cost of it.

My freezer is at about 20 degrees and I keep the little guys on ice for at least a week. They hang out next to the deer meat and the peas.

Guess that works then. A week is a long time to keep a shirt in the freezer

When the pedicabs disburse en masse from Jean Georges carrying people dressed in all black with fear in their eyes: that will be your sign.

Was just in New York for two days of meetings. I didn't think once about bed bugs ... and had no encounter with them.

Of course, my memory isn't what it used to be. Lets just say I don't recall an encounter with any.

Not too long ago, The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe podcast interviewed an entomologist who shared some good tips for increasing your awareness of bedbugs.

Here's a link to a blog post she made regarding checking for bedbugs in hotels:

http://membracid.wordpress.com/2008/...-for-bed-bugs/

Here's another article published by the University of Minnesota regarding travelling and bedbugs:

http://www.ipmctoc.umn.edu/Traveller...ng_bedbugs.pdf

It's easy to become paranoid about these things. Hell, I was scratching psychosomatic itches for hours after I read the articles. Still, a little bit of awareness goes a long way and you just may need the info one day.

totally agree with this statement. Tabun, Soman, VX, bring it on!!!!

I am disgusted by bugs in general but much more disgusted by bug and filth tolerent folks. We seriously need to bring back usage of DDT and lindane and have anyone against this sent to NYC during the gassing

Thanks for any advice.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
