I don't really like it. I have no idea of the quality of construction, but VBC is generally good cloth.

I would look at linen or cotton (or blend) for a summer SC. If you want wool, a hopsack or fresco. I would look for patch pockets as well.

Don't much like the look of it and it reeks budget end of market. However if you like it and it fits, you will be wearing it.

Eidos makes really nice navy hopsack blazer that I just saw at Bloomingdale's NYC. (it was $800ish, though...)

I'm sure Suitsupply has more than a few options in the $300ish ballpark...

That Coolmax hemp jacket looks good, not so keen on that 36% polyester though. What about Zara? It fits my price range.

the first one is fine- except for the red accents, because it limits options.
the second is real nice, but more of an evening jacket in summer.

how are these?:

this company is one of Japan's best known. and the designer has been around for years... see if you can stretch the budget on one of these..

and this company is popular.

my jackets are mostly thrifted and guys in the thrift thread. you could ask about what they have in your size for the right price? you could get lucky.
A great guy on there hooked me up with a 100% cashmere navy blazer that is light enough for a afternoon/evening jacket.

for a daily thrasher jacket for fun in summer? don't be afraid of the poly, a blend is more party resistant. with enough natural content, you should be fine. and it's in your budget, lastly, uniqlo has some passable stuff, nearly grabbed a seersucker from there, but waiting for the right one.

Avoid synthetics for summer. It won't breathe well. Defeats the purpose of a summer blazer. Since fresco is out of your price range, linen and cotton are they way to go. I believe uniqlo has something 100% linen currently.

How about this one it's 75% cotton and 25% synthetics and none of that red detailing.

If anyone reading this has a nice navy blazer for about 150$, I wouldn't mind taking it of your hands.
head over to the "Thrift store bragging thread" and ask. for real.

most of the time, true. sometimes, very little difference. compromises are made on a budget. if fabric content is the only compromise? and is only 25% (ish) ?? depends on how hot his summer is. to get what he is asking for.

+1 on the Uniqlo.

Not sure if I can get Uniqlo here in Europe, guess I'll try my luck on the thrift thread.
