Unbelragazzo, yes the customer service at Mr. Porter is pathetic. Sorry if my earlier posts were ambiguous. Lol. Patrons should heed my advice and never buy from Mr. Porter.
So you're saying I shouldn't get anything from Mr. Porter? Are there other retailers where you've had good experiences with online ordering?

you do realize that Mr. Porter is not in the shipping biz, right? Furthermore, they are an arm of a highly-successful e-commerce firm (pret-a-porter) and offer amazing goods and brands not always found in one place, let alone online.
Things happen - but there's a way to go about getting the solution you want. Telling everyone not to shop there and that they will be out of business is not it.
Get your refund/credit and get over it.
I have bought many things online from reputable vendors (Barneys, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Brooks Brothers) and never had a problem.
Viral, you are clearly young and know nothing about running a successful business. Every touchpoint is a part of the customer experience. Mr. Porter failed in many aspects along the way. This had nothing to do with them being or not being a "shipping company." They made multiple promises/guarantees that they did not deliver on which were within their control. Anyone who reads the experience the encountered should (at a minimum) think twice about buying from them and (most likely) buy the product from a different retailer. I have bought many things online from reputable vendors (Barneys, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Brooks Brothers) and never had a problem. You clearly have no clue about business.
