Got this. Loving it so far. Damn fun to ride. Had one of these when they were still a Dyna, but love the remake with the 114 in it.

In other news, almost 6 months to the day after I bought it, received the title for my BMW.

Finally! I'm glad the title finally showed up. Enjoy the new bike as well!

thanks man. When I check the Google Reviews, I see several from the last few weeks, same thing, people bought a bike months ago and no title, and latest was a guy saying he was told by the state (when he complained) that their license was revoked end of May! Their website is also down. Crazy stuff as this place has been in business since mid-80s!!

It could be that the original owners have passed the torch on to a new team and the new team just ain't up to the task--the timing would be about right if they started in the '80s. We see it a lot with our small business clients, especially when the owners try to pass things on to the kids (who had glamor "jobs" at the business but never actually had to perform).

Are used bike prices crazy everywhere? I was planning on getting another bike, but used is close to MSRP that I’m probably just going to buy new.

I’m thinking Triumph Trident or Street Triple, Ducati Monster, Aprilia Tuono 66, or BMW R Nine T. It’s pretty much impossible to get a test ride on them though. I currently have a Speed Twin 900 and want something a little less laid back.

MT09/XSR 900/KTM 890 aren’t my cup of tea looks wise and MT/XSR we’re too twitchy on the throttle response.

Seriously on the test ride? How does a dealer expect you to make a $10,000 to $20,000 purchase without the benefit of seeing how the bike fits? FWIW, I have the R Nine T Scrambler and love it. I've ridden Triumph or HD all my life, so when I test rode (interesting concept) the BMW, I hadn't expected to love it as much as I did, but I bought it on the spot, it was just that fun.

On used bike prices, I am surprised to hear that, sort of. Scarcity of new models (due to supply chain/chip availability issues) has reduced supply of automobiles, which supports used car pricing, but I am not aware of the same phenomenon for bikes. That said, I sold a Sportster a few months back and broke even with what I paid for it, which sort of surprised me.

It's very unusual around here for a motorcycle dealer to allow an on-the-road test ride. I'm only aware of one dealer that does it, and even then you are escorted by a dealer employee on another bike.

Strange. I get the escort thing, but I've test ridden bikes at least a dozen times in the last five years and just once had the "escorted" ride proposed. All other times, it was "here are the keys, need a helmet?"

I haven't seriously looked at motorcycles in a long time, but my neighbors seem to buy and sell their bikes every year, and they have mentioned there is no test riding allowed.

Hope those places have a good return policy lol. I've tested some bikes that looked fantastic on paper and I was there with express purpose to buy, but walked away after riding. Triumph Thruxton was an example of a bike that I wanted to own, but just could not pull the trigger after riding.
