Mine are 11-eye and have no such collar, but there is faint lettering on the inside throat. So faded you can barely read it. It possibly says "9501 STYLE" and "8172 M (?) SIZE 9"

While we are on the DM subject, AirWair just released MiE boots and shoes in burgundy Horween Chromexcel leather. You probably know this is an excellent and beautiful traditional full grain 'pull up' leather.
The stocks are already low, and they are sold out in certain sizes.
There is a big downside though : the infamous yellow stitching ! I don't understand why they didn't make them with plain welt.

He would certainly have been getting some grief for having hair that short at that time. I remember late suedehead/bootboy types laughing at the one skinhead left around our way.
