Mine are 11-eye and have no such collar, but there is faint lettering on the inside throat. So faded you can barely read it. It possibly says "9501 STYLE" and "8172 M (?) SIZE 9"

While we are on the DM subject, AirWair just released MiE boots and shoes in burgundy Horween Chromexcel leather. You probably know this is an excellent and beautiful traditional full grain 'pull up' leather.
The stocks are already low, and they are sold out in certain sizes.
There is a big downside though : the infamous yellow stitching ! I don't understand why they didn't make them with plain welt.

Edit: just went to my local DM shop :

The leather is really nice, but the stitching is really…yellow :p

Do yours have the size/styling info on the collar?

These are mine btw.

As I said, styling info is very hard to read:

And this is a pair of DMs I recently mentioned rescuing from a charity shop. They'd been left in a poor state, but I don't think they have anything to be ashamed of now.

Very stubborn leather and the same Dr Marten's cross sans "The Original" or "Made in England" as the Astros:

So I'm guessing early 80s.

There is no answer really. What you are looking for is something that featured on a 1969 boot that never featured on a later boot.

I can't believe Clouseau is on Instagram! I joined like a year ago, uploaded a dozen pics, then didn't know what to do with myself there. I see the inspector has done better than myself...

Instagram is only slightly less dumb than Tumblr, which is like watching cherries on a one-armed bandit

While we are on tight-fitting jeans territory, another one from the infamous 1969 gay skins series that i think we didn't have before.

Just a picture we didn't had. Not to re-start a discussion on the subject that already went over again and again, scroll back a few hundred pages if you want. :-D
