I can't believe Clouseau is on Instagram! I joined like a year ago, uploaded a dozen pics, then didn't know what to do with myself there. I see the inspector has done better than myself...

And, by the way, that's one reason I have never worn Fair Isle and never will.

Maybe if you are Weller , you can get away with it. .

i agree with MoM on the Levi's leather trucker fit, very good. I didn't pull the trigger, but tried several on. I didn't try a Lee leather trucker (because i didn't see any in the shops - and i don't think they made any for a long time ?) but tried a suede one a few years ago, the fit was more boxy.

On the Lee subject, i was very surprised to see in the Paris Lee flagship store a Japanese Lee Archive (that i never saw before in an official Lee Europe store). It is a splendid item (and as you know my jeans of choice, i have two 1952 Riders 101z repro).
It's a 1954 Lee Riders 101 B (B for buttons, while Z is for zip). Very nice detailing. On this picture i took, you will notice the smaller leather patch typical of 'in the time' Lee Riders, and the vintage tag (that comes only with the Lee Archives japan). The denim is of a splendid color and quality and around 14 oz, and the rise is a tad higher and legs are much wider than the contemporary Lees. Woven and made in Japan.
Of course it comes with a price, equivalent to the retail price of a LVC.

I got a pair of 19oz 101z from TKMax a couple of years ago , which are excellent . Best thing about them is that I managed to pick them up for £50 . I think the LVC prices are a bit steep actually , jeans were never that expensive back in the day .
Don't get me wrong , they are the way l think jeans should be but just that full price is a bit full on. .

I totally agree with you, LVC retail prices are ridiculous (furthermore now that they are no longer in US Cone Mills denim) and it is the same with Lee archives Japan. Like you, i always manage to buy all my denim (and other stuff) well discounted...

I thought it was just a short neat cut on the pic, much like the college boy cuts, can't say i have ever been a massive fan of the jam though

Foxton was always my style icon as a teenager much moreso than Weller. (Well apart from the mullet like!)
Even these days he usually looks better and whatever faux pas he may have committed along the way (and let’s be honest we’ve all been guilty of that down the years) to my knowledge he’s never stooped so low as wearing a wife beater vest in public.
