In the UK the yearly average death toll from Flu is 600. Now that is still a lot of people.
Covid 19 UK death toll this week. 717 on Monday, 778 on Tuesday and today 761 and the day's not over yet. UK Total 12,958 as of 2hrs ago.
I can't hardly believe anyone can think this isolation is an overeaction to a few deaths and 'Well none of my relatives have it and I'm missing the pub'. Genius.

I'm looking for a new Harrington jacket. I like having a stiff collar that stands up, and a thicker fabric (I find the Ben Shermans too thin). Budget about $120.

I've narrowed it down to Merc, Ben Nevis, and Jump the Gun.

https://www.merc.com/products/the-classic-harrington-jacket?variant=16219768946790 Merc looks good. I don't like the logo on the left chest though (is it possible to take it off?)

https://www.bennevisclothing.com/product/harrington-jacket-navy/ Ben Nevis's looks a bit floppy which I don't like. I want it stiffer. Also the fabric looks a bit thin.

https://jumpthegun.co.uk/product/harrington-navy-raglan/ Jump the Gun's collar looks a bit floppy which I don't like. I want it stiffer.

Anyone have experiences with these brands? Thanks.

Maybe get a second hand baracuta off ebay? ben nevis and jump the gun are nice but not luxury items. no that impressed with the merc, no raglan and stitched branding.

The Ben Nevis 'Combat' jackets are much wider and I think a bit shorter than the other two. They have a long-standing reputation as basic but durable skinhead Harringtons. Probably nice if you're of a stronger build, but not if you're slim because you'll drown in them.

Imo Jump the Gun have the perfect cut among budget Harringtons - wide enough to allow for movement, not tight, but not too wide either. They're made in England, and the quality is decent - but it's true that the material is a bit floppy, so the collar won't stand up well.

Merc - probably the best quality Harrington for less than 100 quid. The fabric is much sturdier than the other two, so the collar will stand up no problem. No raglan sleeve though, and you won't be able to blouse it at the waist (if these things matter to you). Also, this is the slimmest fitting jacket of the three.

@Yorky that is QUITE. The collection! I’d say the blue suede Levi and the bottle green cord one are unreal— though that sky blue cord Levi is incredible, too.

I have a merc one in light tan and a navy blue combat one. They both have raglan

Great collection Yorky...Really love the blue cord jacket and the Victor Victoria one

I'd love a red one

Not impossible, but the standard Merc Harrington has no raglan - I have an off-white one and a black one. See also the one he linked.
I thought the raglan was the elasticated wrist and waist band? I’ve seen however it is how sleeve is attached to said garment. Just goes to prove I know jack **** about clothes after all ?
