making black pants work..

Wear some camel colored shoes, button down, and cardigan...you can make black pants work...it's the rest...maybe a glen plaid blazer.

This is really good.

The other way black pants can work is going for the full "arty/designer look" - with all blacks and grays expect perhaps for a very muted color shirt (gray, dull blue, or white).

Black clothing in Asia in general is accepted. Wear them with confidence :)

I think the OP is in Florida, USA. Where I get the impression black pants are only appropriate if one is either a waiter or an undertaker. In Asia though, black anything....:nodding:

The UK is generally quite happy with them apart from the occasional closed minded person.

This is also know as the "Just finished a lunch shift, too lazy to change pants, but don't be mistaken, I'm an artsy designer trying to break out".
