I may be wrong here, but I wouldn't find anything wrong with pairing a royal oxford cloth with a suit, and perhaps even with a tux.

It may just be me, but the cloth's texture is very visually reminiscent of the marcella "pique" texture you'll find on tuxedo shirts...

Maybe I'm not very good at searching the Luxire website, but I didn't find any white royal oxfords in the collection.

I found this instead: http://custom.luxire.com/products/brisbane-moss-chambray-white and am wondering, whether it will fit my needs. I have the white fresco chambray, but don't have a swatch of the linked fabric. Can anyone comment on it?

I agree, Royal Oxford also reminds me of the pique texture of some tuxedo shirts or whiteitie vests. It is totally appropriate for wear in a suit, provided you are OK with that texture.

Twill is a much more straight forward choice for formal occassions. Twill can be an informal fabric too, so it really depends more on the quality of the fiber, the thread count, whether is one ply or two ply, etc. I personally find high-end twills to be better than broadcloth for formal ocassions. It drapes a lot better and it nowhere near as translucent or wrinkle-prone.

It seems to be the only one that they have in white right now and it is twice as expensive as some of the other royal oxfords. They do have quite a nice selection of multiple shades of blue though.

Yes indeed. I recently got a soft twill 100/2, which drapes well and minimal wrinkling. Id happily wear with suit and more formal occasions.

Here is a marcella fabric that would be somewhat similar to a royal oxford. Depending on your style, it might look a little more formal than you would want, since this is often the material used in some tuxedo shirts, but I think that some people can pull it off.

You might also want to email Luxire and ask if they have other white royal oxfords that are shown on the site. They can sometimes source other stuff out, and given the large selection that they have in other colors they might be able to do something.

Is that the whitest most opaque shirt that luxire carries? I was disappointed with the whiteness and opacity of a superfine 200/2 I ordered. I'm looking for a fabric that feels solid
