Does anyone know how much shipping and duty charges are to Canada? I've read the info on the website but can anyone confirm this for me? I've heard some conflicting accounts of it.

Shipping charges from Luxire are $15.

The duties, taxes and fees are then your responsibility and you will be charged by the carrier (e.g. FedEx).

From my experience of roughly 15 shirts, 2 shorts and one pair of pants is that you will only be charged by FedEx if you order more than $200 or so. My guess is that FedEx can only assess fees to so many packages in a day and they will make it worth their while instead of worrying about packages with insignificant value. Probably some luck involved as well depending on how busy it is and who is working that day.

Budget ~15-20% for the taxes, duties and fees from FedEx.

Really like that casual shirt Beatlegeuse posted. Anyone else have some good casual fabrics (plaid, madras, checks, etc) that they love?

First shirt try and second pair of trousers.

Very good, especially for a 1st and 2nd try, respectively! Wish my first order turns out this good!

I ordered a trousers and 2 shirts amounting to ~$300 and didn't get assessed anything from FedEx upon delivery. A week later I got a later saying I owed $18: $8 in taxes and $10 for FedEx.

I was actually pretty happy with that.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a fabric for a short sleeve popover? I'm leaning towards the (fantastic) sky blue oxford, but it might be a little heavy for a summer casual shirt and I don't want to go too pricy for my first attempt at a popover.

Question for those that have ordered polos from Luxire. I have a button down short sleeve that luxire made for me that is quite fitted. I like my polos to be pretty fitted as well, especially around the arms and chest. Given that the polo fabric is more stretchy than the button down fabric, do you think I should slightly reduce my measurements for the polo or leave them as is?

Thanks!

@luxire are you still working on leather jackets? Haven't gotten a reply by email asking for a ballpark quote reproducing this jacket:

I've still yet to post a review, but I was quite pleased with the leather jacket Luxire made me. You'll have to talk to Theresa about a quote, but the work they did was rather nice, and were happy to update me when asked, etc.

Thanks Xtra, this is super helpful! Another question - does anyone know what the "hand-accent" on peacoat option is?

No problem! I didn't go through with the order, but that was because I found a reasonably priced peacoat in a local store, so I just went with that instead of waiting for a peacoat from Luxire.

If you could post pictures and/or a review that would be greatly appreciated. I recently asked Luxire to get me some leather swatches for a jacket I want made.
